The Partnership for Community Development published its first newsletter October 2010. An article on page 2 speaks to the Hamilton Five-Way Intersection Study conducted Elan.

The Partnership for Community Development is a not-for-profit community economic development corporation created to enhance sustainable economic opportunity and community vitality in the Village and Town of Hamilton and the surrounding areas.

Landscape Architectural Designer Joins Elan

Zuzana Blaise joins Elan to further advance the firm’s land planning and site design services. To continue meeting our clients’ goals, Elan hired Zuzana Blaise for site planning support. Zuzana will be an integral member of Elan’s site design team focusing on brownfield and waterfront revitalization, park design and community Main Street enhancement.

Ms. Blaise earned her degree in horticulture and landscape engineering from the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra with a minor in landscaping and landscape planning. She has hands-on experience with horticulture, agricultural exhibitions, and garden design. Jere Tatich, a founding Principal of Elan, said, “We are excited to have Zuzana on board; she brings her dauntless work style to our firm and our clients’ projects.”

Elan, located at 18 Division Street in Saratoga Springs, NY, provides comprehensive land planning and site design services throughout the global market with a focus on understanding the purpose of the project, planning the experience, and sculpting the project goals into a reality. Elan Planning/Design/ Landscape Architecture currently has several projects on the boards including the NYS Route 50 Southern Gateway project leading into Saratoga Springs; the Town of Halfmoon Riverfront Park; a downtown revitalization plan for the Village of Hamilton; and the Town of Warrensburg Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan and Community Plan.

Village of Hamilton Downtown

The Village of Hamilton chose Elan Planning, Design & Landscape Architecture to provide a Five-Way Intersection Study for a congested intersection in the heart of downtown. Hamilton is based in the Leatherstocking Region of New York State and is home to Colgate University.

Based upon identified key issues, professional designs and recommendations will be provided by Elan. Public participation and consensus building with stakeholders in the community are integral features of the project.

Opinions Sought on 5-Way Intersection in Hamilton

The goal of a 5-way intersection study in the Village of Hamilton is to improve safety for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists. Community members are being invited to an open house at Hamilton Public Library on Feb. 3 to express their opinions and ideas about how to improve the five-way downtown intersection.
