Lisa Nagle and Jaclyn Hakes presented a seminar entitled, “Comprehensive Planning: Tackling the Tough Issues.”

The session walked through two case studies that illustrated techniques to identify the tough issues, tools available to conduct targeted research and the use of zoning to implement comprehensive plans.

“Creating effective comprehensive plans requires efficient analysis, meaningful community participation and the development of a plan that contains measurable objectives. The session focused on tackling the tough issues through a thoughtful and comprehensive planning process by providing a discussion of common language and applied tools that can be used for the future of each community. Learn how to evaluate issues such as mining, conservation subdivisions, design guidelines and hamlet revitalization, as well as how to update zoning ordinances to comply with your comprehensive plan.”
