Jere Tatich presented two options for creating a new laboratory and science education center in or near Old Forge, NY at a public meeting held on August 26th. The public meeting was held at the Old Forge Libarary by the Central Adirondacks Arts and Sciences Advocacy and Central Adirondack Laboratory for Environmental Studies (CALES). Landscape Architectural Designer Joins Elan

Zuzana Blaise joins Elan to further advance the firm’s land planning and site design services. To continue meeting our clients’ goals, Elan hired Zuzana Blaise for site planning support. Zuzana will be an integral member of Elan’s site design team focusing on brownfield and waterfront revitalization, park design and community Main Street enhancement.

Ms. Blaise earned her degree in horticulture and landscape engineering from the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra with a minor in landscaping and landscape planning. She has hands-on experience with horticulture, agricultural exhibitions, and garden design. Jere Tatich, a founding Principal of Elan, said, “We are excited to have Zuzana on board; she brings her dauntless work style to our firm and our clients’ projects.”

Elan, located at 18 Division Street in Saratoga Springs, NY, provides comprehensive land planning and site design services throughout the global market with a focus on understanding the purpose of the project, planning the experience, and sculpting the project goals into a reality. Elan Planning/Design/ Landscape Architecture currently has several projects on the boards including the NYS Route 50 Southern Gateway project leading into Saratoga Springs; the Town of Halfmoon Riverfront Park; a downtown revitalization plan for the Village of Hamilton; and the Town of Warrensburg Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan and Community Plan.

Adirondack Folk School Planned for Lake Luzerne

Jere Tatich, Elan Principal, Volunteers for CLARB

Jere Tatich, a founding principal of Elan Planning, Design & Landscape Architecture, once again volunteered his time to the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) by scoring and grading the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.). Mr. Tatich has done so for the past 7 years; this year’s grading session was held in Austin, Texas.

CLARB supports its Member Boards in protecting the health, safety and welfare of the public through the establishment of standards of competency and the preparation, administration and scoring of the L.A.R.E. Licensure is a formal recognition that an individual has demonstrated sufficient knowledge, skill and ability to practice the profession and conveys legal professional privileges and responsibilities. Licensure is generally considered the threshold to the profession of landscape architecture.
