The Village of Lyons Falls held its second public meeting on November 7, 2011 to present the draft vision statement, market analysis, and recommendations for the Village’s Brownfield Opportunity Area Study. The BOA study is being funded by the NYS Department of State and is intended to identify the future reuse of brownfield and underutilized sites throughout the Village including the Lyons Falls Pulp and Paper Mill that was closed in 2001 resulting in a loss of 500 jobs. Included in the public presentation was a redevelopment concept plan for the Mill site designed to accommodate future redevelopment of identified industry clusters.
